Service Scope

What our centrifugal pump maintenance covers

Full scope, executed at our Várzea Paulista/SP workshop or on site, with traceability at every step.

01

Diagnosis and teardown report

Documented disassembly, dimensional inspection of every component and a failure-analysis report with root causes and technical recommendations.

02

Mechanical seals and packing

Replacement of single, double and cartridge mechanical seals, plus packing-to-seal conversions where the application calls for it — eliminating leakage and friction losses.

03

Dynamic rotor balancing

Unbalance correction on our bench per ISO 21940-11, grade G2.5 — direct protection for bearings, seals and journals.

04

Laser alignment

Precision alignment between pump and driver, eliminating the parallel and angular misalignment that wastes energy and destroys couplings.

05

Component recovery

CNC machining, thermal spray coating and grinding of shafts, impellers, wear rings and sleeves — restoring design clearances without replacing the assembly.

06

Hydraulic bench testing

Performance validation before delivery: flow, pressure and tightness verified on our own hydraulic test bench.

Preventive, corrective, and the right time to act

Preventive maintenance cuts unplanned downtime

Preventive maintenance for centrifugal pumps follows a scheduled plan: seal and bearing inspection, clearance checks, vibration analysis and fastener retorquing. In industrial plants, a well-run preventive program reduces unplanned downtime by up to 80% — the difference between a scheduled maintenance window and a stopped production line.

Corrective maintenance, in turn, returns the pump to design condition after a failure: full teardown inspection, component recovery or replacement, balancing, assembly and testing. At Hydro Pumps, every corrective job ships with a technical report and bench validation.

Signs your centrifugal pump needs maintenance

Above-normal vibration, gravel-like noise inside the pump (the classic sign of cavitation), continuous seal leakage, drop in flow or head, and bearing overheating are the five most frequent symptoms of centrifugal pump degradation.

Ignoring these symptoms turns a spot repair into a full overhaul: cavitation erodes the impeller, unbalance destroys bearings, and misalignment finishes off seals and couplings. If your pump shows any of these signs, talk to our engineering team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Centrifugal pump maintenance questions

What engineers and buyers ask before sending a pump to Hydro Pumps.

All of them. Hydro Pumps is an independent, multi-brand maintenance company: we service KSB, Imbil, Sulzer, Flowserve, Worthington, WEG and any other manufacturer, domestic or imported. We work with original parts or components manufactured to drawing through reverse engineering.

Both. Complete repairs, balancing and bench tests happen at our Várzea Paulista/SP facility. Diagnosis, disassembly, assembly and emergencies are handled in the field, anywhere in Brazil, with a crew available 24h.

Inspection of seals, bearings and coupling, clearance and alignment checks, vibration analysis, a technical report with an action plan, and scheduled replacement of wear items. The plan is sized by how critical each pump is to your operation.

Send the pump data (brand, model, fluid, symptom) through the contact form or WhatsApp. We reply within 24h. For repairs, the teardown inspection defines the exact scope before any work starts — you approve knowing precisely what will be done.
